BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – For the first time in nearly two years, the jihadist rebels have attacked the provincial capital of the Hama Governorate.

According to a military source inside Hama city, the jihadist rebels fired several Grad missiles into the provincial capital, hitting a number of sites in the process.

In a statement released by the jihadist rebels, they said the new missile attack was in retaliation for the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) attacks on their positions in the Hama and Idlib governorates.

Furthermore, the jihadist rebels claimed their forces targeted the towns of Joureen, Salhab, and Asila at the southern end of the Al-Ghaab Plain.

Both the Syrian Arab Army and rebel forces have been engaged in tit-for-tat attacks, with both sides accusing one another of instigating the strikes.
