BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham have detained civilians attempting to flee southeast Idlib, a Syrian military communique said on Monday afternoon.
According to the communique, the jihadist rebels arrested several young men that were attempting to flee the area through the Abu Dhuhour Crossing.
The jihadist rebels not only arrested the young men, but also, confiscated their vehicles that transport people through the Abu Dhuhour Crossing, the communique added.
In addition to these arrests, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has been detaining anyone they suspect of wanting reconciliation with the Syrian government.
This move by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham comes as the Syrian Arab Army prepares to kickoff their long-awaited offensive in northern Hama and southeast Idlib.
