BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:10 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched another wave of attacks in the provincial capital of Dara’a on Friday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) last positions inside the strategic Al-Manishiyah District.

Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham began their assault by storming the Al-Maqsem Checkpoint inside Al-Manishiyah; this resulted in a series of intense clashes that for a short while on Friday.

Close to being overrun, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division was forced to abandon the Al-Maqsem Checkpoint and its nearby building blocks in order to reinforce other areas that would soon be under attack.

According to a military source in Dara’a, the jihadist rebels also managed to capture two Syrian Army bases during the assault on Friday.

Following the jihadist advance, the Russian and Syrian air forces resurfaced on Friday evening to help their allies on the ground by obstructing the jihadist supply routes to both Dara’a Al-Balad and Al-Manishiyah.
