BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:15 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched a major counter-offensive in the southeastern countryside of Hama last night, targeting the areas that were recently captured by the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA).
Led by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels began the attack last night by storming the Syrian Army’s positions around the town of Qabet Al-Kurdi.
At first, the jihadist rebels were able to score a small advance in southeast Hama, seizing two points from the Syrian Arab Army.
However, their success would be short-lived, as the Syrian Arab Army managed to regroup and launch a powerful counter-attack that forced the jihadist rebels to abandon all of the sites they captured.
The Syrian Army is now attempting to advance further in the southeastern countryside of Hama, while their air force continues to hammer the jihadist defenses near the Al-Rastan Plain in northern Homs.
