BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:55 A.M.) – Al-Masdar News reported earlier today that the jihadist militants of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Sham launched a new offensive this morning that targeted the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
According to the military source, the jihadist rebels are attempting to capture the villages of Al-Mughayr and Bredge in order to build a buffer-zone around the key town of Kafr Naboudeh, whcih is located along the Idlib Governorate’s southern axis.
However, this new offensive was over even before it could go into full swing.
Just a couple hours after the new offensive was launched, the jihadists failed to make any advance at all and after suffering heavy casualties withdrew. At least 15 of the attackers were killed.
In defense, the Syrian Army relied heavily on artillery and missiles strikes targeting attacker positions.
