BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 P.M.) – The jihadist infighting has ended in the Idlib province after an agreement was reached between both warring parties.
According to opposition activists via social media, an agreement was reached between Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham to end their infighting and release their prisoners held on both sides.
The infighting began on Tuesday, when members of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham stormed several towns controlled by the National Liberation Front (NLF).
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham ended up capturing at least three towns from the National Liberation Front, including two towns inside the Al-Ghaab Plain.
No reason was given for the attacks by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham; however, these truces do not last for very long.
In the past, several truces have been made by these rebel factions, but they have all fallen apart at some time or another.
