On Tuesday night, a large convoy of jihadist rebels comprised of fighters from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jaysh Al-Tahrir, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Ghaab made their way to the Al-Ghaab Plains to fight Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group).
However, the jihadist rebels did not have much time to attack Jund Al-Aqsa in the Al-Ghaab Plains because the latter launched a powerful assault against them inside the town of Joseph in Jabal Zawiyah on Wednesday.
Heavy clashes are currently ongoing inside this small town in the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate, as Jund Al-Aqsa looks to expel Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and their Islamist allies from the Jabal Zawiyah region.
Tensions between the former allies started after Jund Al-Aqsa was accused of treason by members of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham; this led to strained relations in northern Syria.
