Jaysh Al-Islam fights back in East Ghouta, recaptures several areas from Syrian Army

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 A.M.) – The Islamist rebels of Jaysh Al-Islam fought back in the East Ghouta, yesterday, targeting several areas captured by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the Al-Zariqiyah axis.

Jaysh Al-Islam began their assault by raining heavy missiles and artillery shells on the poorly fortified positions of the Syrian Army near Al-Zariqiyah.

Following the missile and artillery barrage, Jaysh Al-Islam stormed the area controlled by the Syrian Army and recaptured three points they lost over the weekend.

Jaysh Al-Islam released footage of their counter-offensive on Monday; it showed their forces recapturing lost points and eliminating a number of fortified positions.
