BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:15 P.M.) – The largest rebel faction in the East Ghouta, Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam), announced its full mobilization of forces after the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) recent gains inside this farming region east of Damascus.
While delivering a khutbah in the East Ghouta on Friday, a Jaysh Al-Islam commander called on all of the rebel group’s combatants to help drive back the Syrian Arab Army.
The video footage above shows the Jaysh Al-Islam commander delivering his khutbah to a group of onlookers, likely in the town of Douma.
The Syrian Arab Army has mobilized thousands of men for what is being described by the High Command as the “largest” military operation in the East Ghouta.
Recently, Jaysh Al-Islam and Faylaq Al-Rahman (another rebel group) ended their short-lived civil war in order to join forces against the Syrian Arab Army before this offensive is launched.
