DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2: 30 P.M.) – The Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam has deployed scores of fighters, backed by tanks and armored vehicles, in order to break into the town of Hamouriyah in Eastern Ghouta.

Hamouriyah, part of the greater Arbin city, is under the control of Al-Majd Brigades; a minor rebel faction which was originally affiliated with Faylaq al-Rahman.

According to local sources, Al-Majd Brigades allowed Faylaq al-Rahman militants to use Hamouriyah as a launch pad to attack and subsequently take over Beit Sawa from Jaish al-Islam.

Infighting among rival rebel groups in the Eastern Ghouta has steadily escalated as the Saudi-sponsored insurgents vowed to eradicate Jabhet al-Nusra from the Eastern Ghouta.
