Commander of Nineveh Operations, Major General Najim al-Jabouri, said in a press statement on Wednesday that security forces are waiting for the orders of General Commander of Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi, to start the second phase of the battles to liberate the city of Mosul, according to IraqiNews.
Our forces finished their mobilization in all axes, and are waiting for the orders of the General Commander of Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi, to start the second phase of the battles to liberate the city of Mosul,” Jabouri said.
“Liberation battles did not stop at any point,” he added. “The second phase of the battle to liberate Nineveh requires the deployment of extra forces,” Jabouri explained.
“The [security] forces are moving from Baghdad and other areas toward Mosul, and they will need some time to be stationed in the different combat axes,” he further added.
“The bad weather will slightly affect the battles of the to-be-soon launched second phase,” Jabouri said.
