The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) ambushed a large Jabhat Al-Nusra convoy near Mount Turkamen at Darooshan, killing 31 militants at this mountain village in the Latakia Governorate. The ambush occurred around 6 A.M. Damascus Time, when a contingent from the Syrian Arab Army’s 3rd Army Corps positioned themselves in the surrounding area and laid the attack on the ensuing militants of Jabhat Al-Nusra. According to a military source, the majority of the fighters were unidentified, but believed to be foreigners.

The National Defense Forces (NDF) encountered a large contingent from Jabhat Al-Nusra in the village of Al-Durra, engaging the latter in a violent firefight that led to death of 2 foreign field commanders. According to a source in ‘Aramo, over 20 Jabhat Al-Nusra fighters were killed during the battle, while the NDF lost 6 men. The source added that there were no Syrians among the dead Jabhat Al-Nusra fighters at Al-Durra.
