BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – US President Donald Trump said that his daughter Ivanka Trump would be a “dynamite” as a replacement for Nikki Haley as US envoy to the UN, in comments made from Washington D.C. on Tuesday.
However, Trump quickly remarked that he doesn’t want to “be accused of nepotism.”
Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn, Trump said that “numerous people” are under consideration for the position after Haley announced her resignation earlier in the day.
He confirmed that one of them is the former deputy national security adviser Dina Powell.
The US leader also assured that Washington will do a final pick as soon as possible, adding that Haley will be involved in the selection process.
“I want to get somebody really good,” the president noted.
