BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:40 P.M.) – A number of tanks belonging to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) allegedly crossed the demilitarized zone in the occupied Golan Heights and entered Syria’s Al-Quneitra Governorate, the Sputnik News Agency’s Arabic language channel reported on Thursday

According to Ali Hassan, a correspondent for the agency, the IDF tanks crossed the Allon line and traveled deep into the demilitarized zone approved by the United Nations in 1974 as a neutral territory bordering the separate forces after the Six-Day War.

In response, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reportedly raised their alert levels and moved forces towards the demilitarized zone.

The Sputnik correspondent said the Israeli forces purposely crossed the border to cover up their engineering projects and to “seal the corridor” which was previously used by the IDF to communicate with the rebels in the occupied Golan Heights.

This corridor was used by the Israeli Defense Forces to deliver supplies to the rebels, including the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and evacuate the wounded from the nearby Al-Quneitra Governorate.

Al-Masdar reached out to the Syrian Arab Army’s 9th Division near the occupied Golan Heights; they said the IDF tanks entered the DMZ, but denied that they moved into the Al-Quneitra Governorate.

Syria next main priority should be the liberation of Occupied Golan Heights.

Syrian can not even liberate Idlib from terrorists and Turkey, neither kurds area, neither Al-Tanf area. So, forget about Golan Heights. Syria has been reduced right now to 45% of its original land, and I almost sure that Syria agreed with this.

So, what ? Is Syria going to attack Israel because of this ? Of course not. Syria hardly can defense itself from Israel bombing, and without be able to use the S-300 system.

Why do I smell another Sputnik load of BS?
BTW, IDF didn’t supplied FSA, they had a “deal” with 2 small Druze groups, the Golan Knights and I don’t remember the name of the smaller one.
Both were paid, armed and given air+artillery support to patrol the DMZ, thus helping Israeli Border Guards at avoiding jihadists’ infiltrations into Israel.
Why biasing facts?

Thus far had to copt to 3 yet at least 7 suspected, conservative estimate. Israel responsible for smuggling into weapons into Syria. Israel was the jihadist weapons supplier. Smugglers and friends of jihadists- FSA . That was Israeli role in addition to over 200 airstrike and much more.

Nice try with the disinformation. Trying to get the Druze into trouble? Stopping jihadis? When all those Israeli weapons found their way into the hands of the jihadis themselves who then used them against the SAA? The Israelis never let any weapons be smuggled into the Gaza Strip for the Palestinian Arabs and you want us to believe that the Israeli military can’t track their own weapons movements in the Golan Heights. Not convinced and you can tell your handlers in Jerusalem I said so. And this article was about the Israelis crossing with force into the agreed demilitarized zone… Read more »
