A large number of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday in a new attempt to break into this historical Muslim site during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to locals in Jerusalem, 130 Israeli settlers attempted to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but they were obstructed by security guards before reaching the gates.
This is not an isolated incident; in fact, Israeli settlers storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque on a weekly basis.
However, tensions between Palestinians and Israelis are at an all time high in the holy city of Jerusalem due to the religious month of Ramadan.
The president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud ‘Abbas, condemned the assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling this latest transgression a “red-line.”
