BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:50 A.M.) – The Israeli satellite “Amous-2” captured several photos of the Hmaymim Airport in southern Latakia this week, revealing much of the Russian military’s weapons arsenal at this coastal base.
Perhaps the most eye-opening image the Israeli satellite captured was of the Russian Iskandar Rocket Launcher, which has been suspected to be at this airport since March 2016.
The Iskandar Rocket Launcher is a highly advanced system that fires ground-to-ground missiles from short distances as far as 400-500km away..
Earlier this week, the Russian military began the process to decrease the size of their military presence in Syria, marking the second time during this war that they have reduced their personnel presence.
