DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:10 P.M.) – A Patriot missile fired by the Israeli Army at a UAV that approached the borders from Syria has missed its target before the drone moved away.
A spokesman of the Israeli Defense Force said the drone returned back to the Syrian territories where it originally came from.
It is not yet clear who launched the drone. However, Israel shot down what it claimed to be an Iranian drone last February. This was further developed to Israeli jets delivering airstrikes against Iranian targets inside Syria.
This comes as the Syrian Army launches the long-awaited offensive of southwest Syria with aims at reclaiming all rebel-held territories in Daraa and Quneitra provinces.
