BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 P.M.) – The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, announced that the army personnel fired warning shots in the air towards people who allegedly tried to infiltrate from Lebanese territory on Tuesday evening.
Adraee posted on Twitter that the Israeli forces had spotted, earlier today, people who were approaching the security fence, adding that one of the suspects had climbed the fence and infiltrated into the border, causing him to return to Lebanon shortly after.
He added, “Our forces, which arrived at the scene immediately, spotted the suspects and took the necessary measures to remove them from the fence, including warning fire in the air. The forces also combed the area and made sure that there were no other infiltration actions.”
The people who climbed the fence were not identified.
In an incident last week, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fired warning shots at a local boy from the village of Mays Al-Jabal after he attempted to grab his chicken that moved into areas occupied by the IDF near the Blue Zone.
The boy told the Lebanese media that the IDF grabbed his chicken and did not return it.
