The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) carried out an operation to destroy what they claimed was the final cross-border tunnel from Lebanon, allegedly built by Hezbollah, footage released on Sunday shows.
According to the military, the 800 metre-long (2,600 feet) tunnel was dug into Israel from the village of Ramyeh in southern Lebanon.
It was discovered at a depth of 55 meters (180 feet), making it the deepest tunnel uncovered by the IDF.
The tunnel reportedly had electricity and a rail system.
With the demolition of the tunnel, the IDF wrapped up operation ‘Northern Shield,’ which launched on December 4, 2018, and aimed to find tunnels allegedly built by Hezbollah for cross-border operations.
The military confirmed discovering at least six tunnels during the month-long operation.
