BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 P.M.) – At least 800 employees of Haifa Chemicals will be laid off in the coming weeks as the company closes its two plants that processed ammonia, the AFP News Agency reported on Thursday.

The owner of Haifa Chemicals, Jules Trump, told Israeli Army radio this week that his company was ordered to close its plants by the Tel Aviv regime due to fears over a potential Hezbollah attack on one of the ammonia tanks.

“We have lost hundreds of millions of shekels (tens of millions of dollars) in recent months because, contrary to the promises of the government, there is no alternative solution on the horizon,” he told the radio station.

Trump was ordered to close the plants after Israeli courts convened last week and voted to shutdown the chemical factories.

In the past, Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has warned Israel that his forces are capable of striking the Haifa ammonia tanks with missiles, prompting the Tel Aviv regime to take action to protect these plants.

Israel thinks they are getting ready to fight Hezbollah. They do not know the Ammonia was just an example by Hezbollah. Hezbollah now is stronger than any other time and Israel knows after ISIS, Hezbollah gets even stronger. Why do you think Israel never get rid of ISIS in their Golan border? Just a reminder that we are talking about a regime that shoots at children who throw stones at them!!

“Israel thinks they are getting ready to fight Hezbollah” => Nope, they just take seriously security matters. Look at the picture : the chemical plant is really too close to populated areas due to city extension, that’s all. There were many cases where chemical plants too close to populations ended with industrial catastrophes. “They do not know the Ammonia was just an example by Hezbollah.” => Israel can also do an example by using a nuke, as we are. Nasrallah is a total moron! He even said that had he known the consequences of his 2006 war on Israel had… Read more »

Attacking -or willing to attack- a chemical plant, especially in civilian areas, well, there is a name for such kind of actions. Everybody calls it… TERRORISM… Do you support terrorism? Doing such threats and considering such actions just do confirm that Israelis are saying truth while pointing HB as a terrorist organisation, thus also ruining Iran claims they fight terrorism as Iran contributes to 70% of HB budget with $1bln/year. I wouldn’t be too surprised if, as soon the Syrian case is closed, Iran would drop HB and its status ended changed, being incorporated as a regular unit in SAA… Read more »

What goes around, comes around…or is it he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword…both apply to Israel. It’s only a matter of time.

Sorry really?
Cause, if we extend that to Israel’s lovely neighbours, every single one of those, both peoples and governments, live by the sword. Like, nearly exclusively, violence is 100% a legitimate and viable solution to any problem in the arab world.
So, do you expect all the Arab/Muslim countries to topple and all their peoples to die violently?

Site sources, you’re the only person to make this claim. Anonymously, as is the arab way.
Conversley, the company that owns the plant has an anuall shareholders report where they state exactly what they do…

to defeat any regime, you’ve got to hit them where it hurts most: not military infrastructure but their pockets!

A point which has been missed – Haifa Chemicals has been operating it’s Ammonia tanks for more than a decade; where they, and the government, unaware of the devastating risks involved, or did they decide to take those risks, not informing the public?
Is it coincidental to the belated removal order that a high Iranian government source recently said they could hit the ammonia tanks, and they would explode with the power of five atom bombs?
So much for Israel’s vaunted ‘defence of its people’.
