BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:45 P.M.) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly crossed the U.N. demilitarized zone in the Golan Heights to enter Syrian territory a few weeks ago, an Israeli journalist recently claimed.
The IDF was reportedly confronting a group of fighters from Liwaa Shuhada Al-Yarmouk, an Islamic State faction fighting in southern Syria.
Video footage of this alleged confrontation was released by an Israeli journalist on Friday; it would show a reenactment of the IDF entering Syrian territory and searching for Islamic State terrorists.
This is not the first time that the Israeli Army has entered Syrian territory; they have crossed on numerous occasions to help transport wounded jihadist rebels returning from the battlefield.
