Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed the country’s intention to fight the alleged entrenchment of Iranian forces in Syria, noting that Tel Aviv enjoys having “no limitation to freedom of action” in the Arab Republic, during his address on Israeli TV channels.

The prime minister noted that such freedom of action is possible due to support from Washington.

He added that the topic of countering the alleged Iranian military presence in Syria will be one of the topics for discussion with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Jerusalem.

The statement came ahead of Netanyahu’s planned visit to the US later this week, with the situation in Syria being high on the agenda of the upcoming talks with President Donald Trump in wake of US troops’ gradual withdrawal from the Arab Republic.

Earlier in the day, the US president stated that a total of 400 US troops will remain in Syria, with 200 of them deployed at a location near Israel.

Israel conducted airstrikes on Syrian soil on multiple occasions, claiming to have hit Iranian military targets. One of the recent airstrikes led to the destruction of several buildings at Damascus International Airport.

Damascus and Tehran slammed the airstrikes, urging the international community to take steps to prevent further Israeli attacks.

Iran denies having a military presence in the Arab Republic apart from advisers sent in at the request of Damascus and to help it fight terrorist groups.

Relations between Israel and Iran remain strained, as Tehran denies the Jewish state’s right to exist and has repeatedly vowed to destroy it.

The Israelis, as have others, have been supporting and using jihadis against the Syria for years now. It’s because their terrorist proxies have been defeated in the Golan Heights and in S. Syria that the Israeli military are now decided to act directly against the Syrian Government and allies. And that is while the last two are still fighting ISIS, HTS, FSA, etc as well as trying to handle their international terrorist masters consisting of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE and the USA.

Actually, you’re wrong : the only groups they backed were 2 Druze ones paid to patrol the DMZ in order to avoid jihadis to try to sneak into Israel. They’re nowhere near as twisted as you think.

You seem to have no clue about the cost of operations, e.g. from May 2015 to Dec.2016, the short lived “New Syrian Army” costed half a billion $ to USA.

Another point : Sunni Islamists don’t work more with Jews than Shia ones (e.g. Hezbollah, IRGC). Israelis prefer to invest big in NASDAQ companies rather than creeps any way.

ISIS was created by IRGC in order to have the Yankees eliminate Sunni ‘resistance’ and fill the vacuum.

You’re also mistaking UAE for Qatar and Saudi pulled out for a while. US also stopped backing militants. Trump isn’t Obama, MBS isn’t Bandar bin-Sultan.

Zionism has lost the war in Syria and Iraq so it is taking revenge. It should be noted Israel started attacking Syria at the moment it was clear to all they lost. Their intention was to destroy Syria and Iraq so to create strategic depth. For this they also wanted to create some Kurdish state (states) to weaken their Arab opponents. The plan was and is to destroy Iran as much as is possible. The Middle East will only come to rest once Zionism, the eternal warriors, is defeated for good. I don’t see no other solution.

“Relations between Israel and Iran remain strained, as Tehran denies the Jewish state’s right to exist and has repeatedly vowed to destroy it.” This comes from Sputnik? How many Zionists do they have working for them? This statement is right out of the Israeli propaganda pool and is the same tactic ZeroHedge uses. This is the c**p they feed to Russians as well? I guess the western MSM aren’t the only shills in around. No wonder Putin has problems at home.

The most amusing : Iran backs Hamas which is part of the Muslim-Brotherhood (banned in Syria, Egypt, Russia, etc) and itself backs al-Nusra/HTS (al-Qaeda in Syria) and ISIS/Sinai Wilayat

At least Israeli strikes are not as hypocritical as Ian’s use of terrorists to strike Israel. Even Putin warned the mullahs that their attitude towards Israel was intolerable and moreover counterproductive.
