BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:55 P.M.) – Syria’s Assistant Foreign Minister Ayman Sussan stated on Monday that Syria will defend itself against any form of aggression by Israel, adding that they should not underestimate Damascus because of the ongoing war inside the country.

“We have full confidence the aggressor will be greatly surprised because it thought this war — this war of attrition Syria has been exposed to for years — had made it incapable of confronting attacks,” Ayman Sussan said.

“God willing, they will see more surprises whenever they try to attack Syria,” Sussan added.

The Syrian Air Defense downed an Israeli F-16 jet that was seen flying near the Syrian border on February 10th.

Israel would respond to the downing of their aircraft by launching several airstrikes over the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

This response by Israel resulted in the death of at least eight Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers and a couple Iranian-backed fighters.

Yeah, with Iranians, they built up a SAM-trap, using the Sentinel UAV Iranian copy as a bait, violating the Israeli airspace to drag the F-16 into an optimal position to shoot a S-200, now they complain for the retaliation, l**o! They are likely to expect other kind of surprises if they go on, it’s not without reasons the Arrow SAMs have been moved to Golan as these have already proven being able to intercept S-200… Maybe having got a F-16 can boost their hubris but it ends with 10 useless death for a stupid provocation and if they go on… Read more »

Israel is just as responsible. Sending drones over every day.
The Israeli infringed Syrian air space.
