BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – A Syrian military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News on Friday afternoon that the Israeli strike on the Al-Dabaa Airbase last night had targeted Hezbollah’s positions.
According to the Syrian source, Hezbollah has had a presence inside the Al-Dabaa Airbase since they expelled the rebel forces from the strategic border-city of Al-Qusayr in southern Homs.
The source was unable to verify if there were any casualties.
However, despite some reports of the Syrian Air Defense repelling the Israeli attack, the source confirmed that missiles did reach the intended target.
This attack by the Israeli Air Force marks the first time during this war that any foreign entity has targeted this military base near Al-Qusayr.
