A barrage of over a hundred missiles and artillery shells is devastating government-held western Aleppo as we speak following the explosions of three Jaysh al-Fateh suicide bombers on Thursday morning.
In what was described by Jaysh al-Fateh as preemtive shelling, elephant rockets, howitzers, and BM-21 Grad rockets struck the 3000 Apartment Project, New Aleppo district and al-Zahraa neighbourhood.
Minutes ago, the Syrian military announced the shelling had killed 4 civilians and injured 40 more, including university students from the nearby Faculty of Arts.
Preliminary reports also suggest Jaysh al-Fateh infiltration units (known as Inghimasis) are storming the 3000 Apartment Project and Al-Assad Military Academy in western Aleppo.
Furthermore, video footage confirmed jihadist militants destroyed two anti-tank gun positions held by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), including a Kornet ATGM atop the Al-Assad Military Academy and a Malyutka ATGM inside the 3000 Apartment Project.
Involved in today’s Islamist offensive are Faylaq Al-Sham, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, Jabhat Ansar al-Din, Fatah Halab, Ahrar al-Sham, Jaish al-Mujihideen, the Turkistan Islamic Party along with minor contingents of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
