DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:05 P.M.) – The newly formed “Northern Hama Operation Room” launched a counter-offensive last night that targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions north of Souran.

This rebel operation room that consists of 5 Islamist factions, began their counter-offensive by capturing several points they lost to the Syrian Arab Army last week.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Islamist rebels recaptured SyriaTel Hill, Basha’er School, and Lahya Crossroad after a short battle with the Syrian Armed Forces.

With these sites captured, the Northern Hama Operation Room is now in position to strike the important town of Souran from its northern flank.

Excellent

When jihadis attack, they have immediate gains but when SAA attack, SAA advances 1 meter per month even if SAA has air superiority. I think there is a problem.

Issue of resources. To attack SAA uses tiger forces , for manning the checkposts or liberated areas they use local recruits of SAA or NDF(local militia). They can do some symbolic defense but can not stand a well supplied and hardened foe like “operation room”.

This is a move to get tiger forces away from Aleppo and probably delay the Al Bab offensive.

Why aren’t these local recruits trained properly? This is supposed to be an army, it’s not an army if only a small percentage of it can actually fight.
