BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) – The Islamist rebels of Jaysh Al-Izza carried out a big ambush against a group of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers in the northern countryside of the Hama province on Wednesday.
According to a military communique, the Islamist rebel group carried out the ambush north of the town of Massasneh, which is located along the Hama-Idlib axis.
The communique said that at least nine Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed and more than 20 others were wounded as a result of this ambush by Jaysh Al-Izza on Wednesday.
In response to this big ambush by the Islamist rebels, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a powerful retaliatory attack on Jaysh Al-Izza’s positions near the town of Al-Latamnah.
The Syrian Arab Army used a large number of artillery shells and surface-to-surface missiles to hammer away at the Jaysh Al-Izza trenches and bases in northern Hama.
