The Islamist factions loyal to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have suffered more disappointments in the Yarmouk Camp, as the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) continues their abrupt offensive to gain full-control of this once thriving district in southern Damascus.
On Saturday, ISIS advanced further into rebel territory, capturing a number of building blocks adjacent to 30th Street, while they killed dozens of Aknef Beit Al-Maqdis fighters.
ISIS has killed over 70 Aknef Beit Al-Maqdis fighters over the last four days, according to a Fatah Al-Intifada source at Yarmouk Camp.
Adding to the plight of the people in the Yarmouk Camp District, an ISIS contingent entered a neighborhood and killed 9 civilians and then abducted at least 18 others, according to the Palestinian Liberation Organization”s (PLO) Secretary Khaled ‘Abdel-Majeed.
‘Abdel-Majeed reported that at least five identified civilians were beheaded and another four were summarily executed by a firing squad near the Hajar Al-Aswad border with Yarmouk Camp.
As the Islamist factions continue to clash in the Yarmouk Camp, the Palestinian resistance groups have joined forces to combat the terrorist organizations plaguing the district with violence and strict governance.
According to a source from Jarmana Camp, the Syrian Arab Army’s Palestinian wing, the “Palestine Liberation Army,” assisted over 150 civilians from the Yarmouk Camp to a nearby safe-haven in order to avoid the increased violence.
Falsified reports of have surfaced on social media sites about alleged “barrel bombing” from the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF); however, after contacting a source in the nearby Al-Tadamon District, this was confirmed to Al-Masdar News as a falsified claim.
