At least one batch of humanitarian aid parachuted over the besieged city of Deir Ezzor was intercepted by ISIS fighters on Monday, pictures released by Amaq Agency revealed.
The airdrop accidentally landed on ISIS-held woods a few kilometers west of the city.
Some 100,000 civilians live under siege in the western part of Deir Ezzor after jihadist militants cutoff the eastern city from the government mainland in western Syria in 2012.
The provincial capital of Deir Ezzor is regularly provided with goods, food and medicine through airdrops sponsored by the U.N. and supplied by the Russian Air Force.
