DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:32 AM) – The long-awaited offensive by the Syrian Army on the Islamic State-held enclave of eastern Hama has finally materialized following days of Desert Hawk units mobilizing on the Salamiya, Sheikh Hilel, and Ithriya axes.
Hours after the launch of the operation, the elite Desert Hawks were able to capture Shahed 9 and Shahed 10 east of Salamiya as a preliminary step to unleashing the full brunt of the offensive. Battle footage emerged revealing Desert Hawk T-72 and T-90 tanks operating alongside storming troops under the cover of Russian helicopters.
The terror group finds itself in deep trouble after Tiger Forces to the northeast have successfully managed to secure the Ithriya-Resafa Highway significantly shortening the supply lines to Resafa by hundreds of kilometers as Tiger Forces commanders wrap up their preparations for a new operation against ISIS in eastern Syria.
Other Syrian Army units in eastern Homs have achieved fire control over Humaymah village of Deir Ezzor’s southwestern countryside after seizing the hills overlooking the town. Fierce clashes have been ongoing for two days as the SAA and its allies attempt to secure it. The 5th Corps, Quds Brigade, and 11th Division continue their slow advance in eastern Palmyra capturing several kilometers everyday in the direction of ISIS’s stronghold of Sakhna en route to Deir Ezzor.
ISIS’s days are numbered.
