The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) threatened to eradicate Gaza-based Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS).
The threat came in a 16-minute long video recently shared by pro-ISIS accounts on social media where a masked man slammed the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group for cooperating with Iran, the Lebanese Shia Hezbollah, and other ‘nationalist’, ‘communist’ and ‘secularist’ parties.
“The point of Jihad is not to liberate lands, but rather to fight in order to implement the Law of God; this is how God defined Jihad”, said one masked ISIS militant who appeared in the video. “We will uproot the state of the Jews (Israel) and you and Fatah, and all of the secularists are nothing and you will be over-run by our creeping multitudes”, he continued.
The fighter later vowed that the soldiers of the Caliphate will soon be creeping on Hamas. “We swear to God that what is happening in Yarmouk Camp today will happen in Gaza very soon”, said the fighter.
ISIS has recently seized part of Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in southern Damascus after clashing with anti-Assad Islamic fighters.
Hamas has been harshly criticized by ISIS for launching a wide-scale crackdown on Salafist groups in Gaza Strip, and for not being ‘stringent enough’ in enforcing Sharia Law in the territories under its control.
Earlier on May, Hamas arrested dozens of members of the Salafist groups following a series of unclaimed bombings in Gaza Strip.
Both ISIS and the Salafist groups in Gaza oppose the truces held by Hamas with Israel and the rival Fatah movement.
