DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:00 P.M.) – ISIS has released another propaganda video, this time showing off Islamic State sharpshooters in action in the Yarmouk Camp, a predominately Palestinian residential area in southern Damascus.
In addition, ISIS claimed that the SAA and nearby opposition groups were colluding in the Syrian capital, hinting at localized ceasefires and the East Ghouta de-escaliation agreement signed in the past by the otherwise warring parties.
The footage then showed jihadist snipers either killing or wounding around a dozen members of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA). Towards the end of the video, fighters loyal to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were also gunned down.
Although the video was released by the official Islamic State media wing on Tuesday, the footage itself can be traced around two months back.
Despite suffering huge territorial losses in eastern Syria, ISIS still controls two enclaves elsewhere in the country. One is based around the aforementioned Yarmouk pocket while the other is made up by a dozen ISIS-held villages in southwestern Daraa.
