DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:20 P.M.) – Scores of Syrian Army soldiers were killed and injured as a suicide blast rocks their position in Zaizoun town of west Daraa countryside.
According to initial reports, an ISIS suicide bomber detonated his van near a detachment for the Syrian Army in the recently-recaptured town.
No exact toll of the casualties has been yet known.
Days ago, the government forces regained control of Zaizoun along with several nearby towns as part of wider offensive to retake the entire southern province of Daraa.
Khalid Ibn al-Walid Army, an ultraconservative group which has pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed Islamic State, is controlling the Yarmouk Basin located in the junction of Israeli-Jordanian-Syrian borders.
