The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) large-scale offensive at the Syrian Government stronghold of Al-Safira began with much promise and ended in complete disaster, as the soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) defeated the terrorist group’s encroaching combatants before nightfall yesterday.
According to field reports from the journalist, Kinana ‘Alloush, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces beat back the large terrorist offensive at the city of Al-Safira after several soldiers from the National Defense Forces were transferred from the southern Aleppo front in order to help repel the terrorist group’s large attack on their defenses.
With ISIS’ retreat from the northern sector of Al-Safira, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces were able to recover their lost territory and secure the town of Al-Aziziyah by forcing the terrorist group to withdraw to the strategic hilltop of Tal Reeman; this aforementioned hill provides ISIS cover from the Russian airstrikes.
According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army inside the provincial capital of Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces killed over 50 enemy combatants from ISIS, including several foreigners from Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
