BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 P.M.) – The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) scored a major advance in the eastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate this past weekend.
Backed by heavy artillery and airstrikes from their Coalition partners, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to crack the Islamic State’s lines at the town of Marashidah and establish a presence in the area.
According to the official media wing of the SDF, their troops managed to kill several Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) militants during the battle, while also seizing a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
As shown in the video below, the Syrian Democratic Forces captured a large cache of weapons that were left behind by the terrorist forces around the town of Marashidah.
The Syrian Democratic Forces are still involved in a fierce battle to capture Marishidah and they should be able to fully expel the terrorist forces in the coming day.
