BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) fired two U.S. manufactured anti-tank TOW missiles at two parked Syrian Air Force jets in the Deir Ezzor Military Airport on Friday, causing material damage to the planes.
According to a military source in Deir Ezzor, the jets were not destroyed by the Islamic State terrorists, despite the fact they scored direct hits on the immobile planes.
In response to this attack the Syrian Arab Air Force carried out an intense series of airstrikes over Saqr Island, Al-Hawiqa, Al-Rusafah, Old Airport District, Al-Jafra, Al-Muri’iyah, and Al-Jubeileh.
These airstrikes reportedly killed many militants and destroyed several armored vehicles that belonged to the Islamic State terrorists.
