A surge of bloody assassinations have recently swept the northern city of Idlib , leaving scores of warlords drown in their blood, and sparking a potential in-fight among the Islamist factions controlling the city.

Earlier on Thursday morning, unknown assailants have shot dead the prominent leader of Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) 1st Coastal Division ‘Imad Tabak’, in Jisr al-Shughur city western Idlib.

Elsewhere in the countryside of Idlib, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham claimed to have captured “pro-ISIS” sleeper cells, that had carried out several assassination operations by planting Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs).

Last Tuesday, According to rebels sources in Idlib city, an IED-planted motorcycle exploded in a crowded street that killed 3 boys.

“Unknown militants have killed judge Sheikh Safar Al-Safer by shooting him directly in front of his home in the town of Khan Assubul, in the countryside of Idlib” a pro-rebel source reported.

“They also assassinated -on January- senior commander of Harakat Ahara Al-Sham, Abdul Qadir Dhabaan nicknamed as (Abu Tamim), by planting an explosive device in his car”, the same source added.
