BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered a new Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) sleeper cell in the rugged Tuloul Al-Safa region of Al-Sweida this week.
According to a military communique, the Syrian Arab Army uncovered the Islamic State sleeper cell while combing through one of the many caves in the Tuloul Al-Safa region on Monday morning.
Upon discovering the Islamic State sleeper cell, the Syrian Arab Army managed to arrest one terrorist member and seize at least four assault rifles that were inside this cave.
The Syrian Arab Army then secured the area around this cave in order to prevent any future use by the Islamic State terrorists that are believed to be hiding in this rugged region in southern Syria.
Since its liberation from the Islamic State, the Tuloul Al-Safa region has witnessed far less violence and a decreased Syrian Arab Army presence.
Many of the troops that were previously active in the Tuloul Al-Safa region were redeployed to more pressing fronts in the Badiya Al-Sham and northern Syria.
