BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their large-scale offensive in the eastern countryside of Homs this week, targeting the area east of the strategic T-4 Military Airport.

Led by the 800th Regiment of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to seize a new hilltop from the Islamic State (ISIS) forces, while also advancing to the Hijjar Crossroad.

According to a military source in east Homs, the Syrian Arab Army seized the hilltop of Katf Al-Jamal after overrunning the Islamic State’s defenses near the Hijjar Crossroad on Monday evening.

In addition to their advance, the Syrian Arab Army also sent reinforcements to the T-4 Airport recently to expand their offensive to different areas of the Homs  Governorate.

A military source told Al-Masdar News on a Monday evening that reinforcements from the newly formed 5th Legion arrived to the T-4 Airport this week to join the offensive operations taking place against the Islamic State forces.
