BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:50 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) has regained control over the strategic border-city of Albukamal in southeast Deir Ezzor, today, after expelling the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies from the city.

According to a Syrian military report, their forces were unable to secure the northern part of Albukamal after the Islamic State withdrew to the city’s outskirts earlier this week.

ISIS kicked the Syrian Army and their allies out of the Al-Jalaa suburb on Saturday morning, paving the way for their forces to retake the southern portion of Albukamal not long after.

The terrorist group recently sent a large number of reinforcements from the northern part of Deir Ezzor to Albukamal after conceding those villages to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

With Albukamal once again under the Islamic State’s control, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies will attempt to push towards the city from the Al-Mayadeen axis in order surround the terrorist group from three different flanks.

When the news came the SAA took the city personal I was waiting to congratulate… When I then got the SDF are running from the north it was clear. Daesh got reinforcement and weapons from the SDF to counterattack.
Usually I am not a person of revenge or anything like that, but in case of the so called “Kurds” I honestly hope they will get what they deserve for their crimes!!

Let me guess. SDF soldiers got on their stealth magic carpet and flew over the river with heavy arms.

Good morning.
https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/trump-putin-reach-rare-agreement-syrian-conflict/
(…)The conflict in Syria does not have a military solution, Presidents of Russia and the U.S. Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump said in a Joint Statement.(…)
It would fit the bill, right…?
I did not read the original statements, not yet, but if that is what they said then both gentleman are hypocrites.
Have a good day.

“According to a Syrian military report.” Sorry. What report. I just checked with the official SANA News agency. There is only an announcement by the Syrian military dated today that Al-Bukamal is officially totally liberated by the Syrian Government forces. Would you please be more specific as to who released this information? I mean there is no video footage by Amaq news agency from inside the city and neither from the Syrian Army for that matter.

Really?

The SAA is RIDICULOUS. Always promises offensives along the Euphrates and NOTHING happens, small skirmishes on a small island.

This is all ridiculous! How could it be possible when Russia and Syria have total dominance over the air space? It is a Putin/Trump back stabbing deal. That’s why they were all smiles and released a joint press conference. The Syrian government forces were ordered to withdraw and let the US/Zionist terror forces invade and occupy Al-Bukamal. The information that the Tiger forces will try to advance from Mayadin, which lies more than 60km away is throwing pepper is just pulling our legs. We are not stupid and hate it when people treat us like that. Expect ISIS to be… Read more »

I doubt very much ISIS can keep this up forever. The probable scenario is ISIS ‘surrendering’ Albukamal to the SDF or fighting hard until the SDF reaches the eastern bank of the Euphrates river next to the town…. or both.

The arm general in me thinks the Syrian / Iraqi military ought to cross the Euphrates river north of Al Qaim, swing left and advance along the eastern bank of the river enveloping Albukamal.
