The above map shows 4 villages near al-Rai that Turkey-backed Islamist militants and the Free Syrian Army had formerly controlled before ISIS recaptured them.

This is a huge blow to the militants attempts to connect their al-Rai bastions to their area of control in Jarablus.

The northern Aleppo countryside has erupted in violence since Turkey began their incursion last week. It has seen 3-way battles between ISIS, the Kurdish YPG and Turkey-backed militants.
