DAMASCUS, SYRIA (10:45 P.M.) – Frustrated over continuously losing ground to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) across several fronts, the Islamic State decided to unleash a barrage upon Salamiyah, a predominately Ismaeli (Shia) city in eastern Hama.
In what seemed to be blatant indiscriminate bombings of residential areas, ISIS fired seven GRAD rockets from eastern Hama towards the government stronghold on Wednesday.
Not long after, five civilians were proclaimed dead while over 20 people were rushed to a hospital in downtown Salamiyah, many of whom had sustained shrapnel wounds.

No SAA personnel were hit during the bombardment, a military source told Al-Masdar News. But in response to the attack, SAA artillery units began shelling the suspected launch site used by ISIS militants, located west of their Aqriybat stronghold.
The Russian Air Force has also pounded Aqayrbat in recent days, targeting a number of suspected ISIS hideouts and command centers.
