BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and pro-government paramilitaries allied to it renewed their offensive in eastern Homs Governorate today, so far making a series of advances that have served to drastically reduce the size of the ISIS-held pocket which exists in the region.
According to military sources, the SAA and its allies today secured the areas, hills, mountains and canyons of Hareth, Rodat al-Wahsh, al-Asfouryah, Khashm al-Minshar, Khashm Noyo, al-Ghuwyrs, al-Saydah, al-Jarf, al-Sahl, Khashm al-Hamdah, al-Labdah, Qatqat, Thanyat al-Safrah, Huwyah al-Ras, Khirbet al-Samouryah and al-Sateh.
The advances of today by pro-government forces has resulted in them securing most of the strategic areas that make up the ISIS-held pocket whereby any terrorists trapped there within could actually put up a feasible defense.
Little information exists which actually suggests that ISIS left forces within the pocket and thus the advances of today could just be part of an official clearing operation.
