El Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante (ISIS) y Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (anteriormente Nusra) se enfrentaron en los Eriales Jarajir de las montañas Qalamún el jueves por la mañana después de un hiato de dos meses en este frente.

De acuerdo con varios informes en la región, los militantes del Estado Islámico lanzaron un ataque contra Jabhat Fateh al-Sham desde sus posiciones a través de la frontera con el Líbano, lo que resultó en un intercambio violento que duró varias horas hoy jueves.

Los antiguos aliados están luchando por el mismo territorio que comparten en la región occidental del Qalamún de Damasco; esta batalla ha tenido sus intervalos durante casi un año ahora debido a que el ISIS busca fortalecer su presencia cerca de la ciudad libanesa de ‘Arsal.

Ninguna conquista fue reportada por ninguno de los grupos yihadistas. Sin embargo, ambos afirmaron que su oponente perdió un gran número de víctimas como resultado de esta batalla.
