DAMASCUS, SYRIA (0:20 A.M.) – On Tuesday, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated a key neighborhood in the southern sector of Tabqa city following a large advance on its western urban axis earlier in the day.

With the Alexandria suburb already under their control, the US-backed SDF swept through the adjacent Wahab neighborhood in a blitz morning operation.

A lot of weaponry was captured in the latter district while scores of jihadist militants were killed, a Kurdish source told Al-Masdar News. Pictures of the war booty:

In addition, after eliminating an ISIS hideout on Tuesday afternoon, the SDF finally secured the island of Jazirat al-Ayd, located a few kilometers north on Lake Assad.

By the end of the day, around 40% of Tabqa city had been brought under Kurdish control with just a few hundred ISIS militants left in its northern sector and around the city center.
