The terrorist group has already claimed five attacks in Syria, with most of them concentrated on the large city of Raqqa.
The Islamic State also carried out a powerful attack that targeted the U.S. Coalition forces along the Al-Shaddadi Highway in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.
They would also carry out simultaneous attacks in the countries of Iraq, Niger, Somalia, Libya, and Egypt.
In Libya, the Islamic State took advantage of the recent battles between the Libyan National Army and Government of National Accord near Tripoli to begin capturing poorly defended areas.
With Turkey threatening to launch an invasion of the areas controlled by the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria, the Islamic State make take the opportunity to reclaim the territories they lost in 2017 and 2018.
