BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) launched a fresh offensive in the southeastern region of Syria on Saturday, a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) told Al-Masdar News this morning.

ISIS began the assault by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s military posts around the Al-Zaaf Dam of northeast Al-Sweida.

A fierce battle would ensue between the Islamic State terrorists and Syrian Arab Army at the Al-Zaaf Dam, resulting in heavy casualties for both parties involved.

According to the SAA source, the Islamic State has not made significant gains in northeast Al-Sweida, but they were able inflict some heavy damage on the Syrian Army posts near the Al-Zaaf Dam.

Thus far, the Syrian Army has been able to foil the Islamic State’s advance; however, the aforementioned terrorist group is still on the offensive at the moment.

ISIS is attempting to advance in northeast Al-Sweida for the second time in the last ten days, as they look to take advantage of the Syrian Arab Army’s neglected lines in this desert region.

The previous ISIS offensive ended in a decisive defeat for the terrorist group after several hours of fighting the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP).

Al-Tanf is 130km away from this most recent Isis attack, that’s only a couple of hours drive away. They have to get their supplies somewhere and the US base at Al-Tanf has the best Isis resupply depot in Syria bar none, I wonder if these guys did they’re shopping there?

Ridiculous and pure phantasm.
If true, Russians have spy-sats.
They clearly showed the ISIS->Turkey blood-oil smuggling.
They wouldn’t miss an opportunity to expose this!
And if they don’t, the Chinese would : Trump is pi$$ing them off a lot, you know… All they need is to relay the stuff to Wikileaks which will be absolutely pleased to publish it…
Just investigate where Zarqawi was hiding before entering Iraq and who smuggled him there, so you’ll know who are the real ISIS masters, and these aren’t the Yankees, not even the Saudis!

Have you forgotten what happened last year. The Russians claimed several times, that Isis was using the 55km exclusion zone around this US base, to retreat to every time the SAA attacked them. They weren’t making it up for fun. If you also remember the SAA placed a ring of steel around this base and the Russians began flying here non stop. By December of last year, after 4 months of these non stop operations, Russia declared the whole area right up to the Iraqi border Isis free, have you forgotten. That Syria liveau map has an excellent timeline feature,… Read more »
