With the U.S. backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) on the offensive near Raqqa City, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) have found themselves short of manpower at several fronts, including the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
However, in attempt to deflect from their growing manpower issues, ISIS has launched a desperate offensive along the International Highway in Deir Ezzor.
Not only was this offensive repelled within the first two hours it was launched; but the ISIS terrorists also lost more territory near the Armenian Cemetery that is located to the north of the Panorama Checkpoint.
According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) killed 13 enemy combatants during ISIS’ failed offensive, including 4 terrorists of Saudi descent.
The source added that the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) is now conducting airstrikes over the village of Al-Shoulah, which is located along the International Highway.
