BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) continued their offensive in southern Damascus, today, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the Al-Qadam District.
ISIS began their assault on the Syrian Army’s positions in Al-Qadam, yesterday, scoring a small advance in the eastern part of the district.
This morning they attempted to once again advance against the Syrian Army; however, no gains have been reported.
According to a military source in Damascus, ISIS launched their offensive from the Yarmouk Camp axis after the rebel forces agreed to hand over the district to the Syrian Army.
ISIS would take advantage of the Syrian Army’s poorly fortified front-lines in order to claim the eastern neighborhoods of Al-Qadam.
