BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The ISIS-linked Saifullah al-Maslul Army militant group in southwest Daraa has killed and captured number of opposing rebel fighters during an assault it launched on Free Syrian Army (FSA) forces last night.
Yesterday night, ISIS militants attacked rebel defenses around the towns of al-Abdali and al-Majahid, forcing FSA fighters to temporarily withdraw from both.
Although the FSA managed to quickly re-organize and launch a counterattack that saw them take back the two towns from ISIS, it appears that the Sailfullah al-Maslul Army still succeeded in killing and capturing a total of 7 rebels.
According to the pro-ISIS Amaq news outlet, the Sailfullah al-Maslul Army raid killed six FSA fighters and led to the capturing of another.
If the claim is true and ISIS does possess a captured FSA fighter, then it is likely the prisoner will be executed at some point in the near future as this is the standard practice of the terrorist group.
The statement by Amaq is available at the end of this article.
